JERSEY CITY THEATER CENTER
in association with
POWERHOUSE ARTS DISTRICT
ART CENTER
presents STRANGEDOG THEATER’s
inaugural production of
SubUrbia
by Eric Bogosian
Directed by Artem Yatsunov

Eric Bogosian's story of youth struggling in a moral and emotional wasteland becomes starkly real when set in the dilapidated-looking, unfurnished factory floor of the Jersey City powerhouse district’s 150 Bay Street. This found space allows for Strange Dog's young performers to exhibit the bare-bones style and rawness of youthful disillusionment depicted in Suburbia. The diverse backdrop of Jersey City in the midst of redevelopment creates an ideal setting for these lost characters struggling to stand the heat of the melting pot. This is the first play to ever be staged at Power House Art District’s 150 Bay Street; it is being remounted and re-envisioned since it opened at Montclair State University's Fox Theater this spring.
